Wise old elephant was an incedibly successful publication, and although it was published as a poster print in the early nineteen sixties, and distributed by Boots
Many millions of prints were sold.
Twenty five years later, David painted 'Old Charlie' to commemorate this forst publication, and we can see how much his style has changed since the early days
