Although David Shepherd is very well known for his paintings of Elephants and big cats.
The above pictures, illustrate how well he could 'turn his hand' to other subjects.

Many of the characters in his paintings are members of the family.
The interior scenes are mainly of David's home an Elizabethan farmhouse near Godalming in Surrey.
